Curriculum Overview

Kindergarten Program

CCA's Kindergarten curriculum is rooted in child development theory and research. If we are to build the foundation for a child’s formal educational experience, we must meet the needs of the whole Kindergartener: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual. Our Kindergarten staff works hand-in-hand with the rest of the lower elementary department to ensure smooth and well-prepared transitions. We want the foundation we build to be a strong one.

Readiness is the phrase for Kindergarten programs for this generation. Kindergarten would be an inappropriate and stifled learning environment should learning take place only in a lecture / seatwork atmosphere. Studies prove that young children best learn the “3 R’s” when they are woven into hands-on activities—and that is what CCA's Kindergarten program is made of. Our programs are solidly based on academics—stressing a strong phonics, math, and language program.
